Kirsten Imani Kasai is a feminist author with Southern roots. She has published in a range of literary styles, including the speculative fiction novels Ice Song and Tattoo (both from Random House).
Recurring dreams of a dilapidated, haunted mansion inspired Kirsten to try her hand at Gothic literature. She consulted more than two hundred historical sources in her research for The House of Erzulie.
Kirsten is the founder of the Magic Word Editing Co. and the publisher and editor of Body Parts Magazine: The Journal of Horror & Erotica. She earned her MFA and certification in the Teaching of Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles. She lives in California with her partner and children.
